Content of the book:
This book is unique in its kind, as it is aimed at preschool children providing them with the
foundations of initial vocabulary and familiarizing them with simple sentences. Due to the age of the
children, the instructions in the book are directed to the teacher, requiring total mediation. The book
is structured into study units that focus on groups of words divided into categories, such as verbs,
numbers, colors, adjectives…
Learning in each unit is carried out in the following stages:
• Step I –
Vocabulary: introduction to the vocabulary learned through clear and striking drawings.
• Step 2 –
Presentation of the topic: clear instructions for the teacher on making the new words accessible to
children, the category, and the appropriate style to present them.
• Step 3 –
Song: teach a catchy song to memorize the vocabulary learned.
• Step 4 –
Repetition: The vocabulary must be repeated three times a week using the posters and flashcards.
The book offers examples of activities to do for review, depending on the nature of the words.
• Step 5 –
Work in the book: in this phase, two works appear, which must be done with the help of the teacher
who will give the instructions. Emphasis was placed on a clear and striking design to facilitate the
completion of the work. At the beginning of the book, there is no need for any reading. As the year
progresses, some jobs require reading and, a little writing (copying) as added value.
• Step 6 –
Speaking: simple sentences that contain the learned vocabulary. The corresponding image appears
above each word so that children can “read” the sentence with the help of the pictures.
